Roots, Carrillo Beach, by Paul Roark
This is an old favorite. I have always been fascinated by the abstract patterns that roots can form.
This is one of the few 35 mm B&W film images that dates back to before I switched to medium format B&W film in 1981.
While I have shot B&W film from childhood, due to growing up with a darkroom, for most of my "first career" period I simply
took color slides, converting them into B&W occasionally. Most of my early B&W work was lost when my parents, in a move,
threw out everything in their darkroom, which I often still then used because it was much better and larger than what I then had.
